Battle race

This is a multiplayer game. Select vs. mode, and head to a track of your choice. Now, instead of racing as normal, treat it as Battle mode, trying to blow each other up. The stronger power ups (Lightning, Triple red shell) and the larger area makes quite a different game to ordinary Battle mode. If you are hit three times, you cannot win, but are allowed to keep playing unless you are hit once more (This replaces the bomb rule.) A variation of this game involves being able to win by winning the race. To prevent it from becoming an ordinary race, this can only happen if you have more hits remaining than everyone else. This makes the game include more high speed, neck and neck missle blasting action.
